Sister of Mercy Building
This project involved the renovation of an existing historic structure for use as a parish hall, pre-school and middle school. The top floor of the building was originally constructed as a convent for the Sisters of Mercy. The building had been vacant for many years and was in a great deal of disrepair. The top floor of the Sisters of Mercy building required remodeling as six new classrooms, the middle floor as offices, meeting rooms, and banquet room, and the basement floor was designed for four pre-school classrooms. All new finishes and all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems had to be installed. An elevator had to be installed for handicap access. Basically, the entire building had to be re-worked yet renovated to maintain the building’s historic integrity.
